"I approach the dentist's chair much as one might approach a firing squad--trying to appear brave while internally composing one's last will and testament. It was in this tremulous state that I found myself under the care of Dr Girish, a man who promptly dismantled my fears with the ease of someone buttering toast. From the very outset, he exuded an air of calm competence, the sort that makes you think, "Ah. This fellow knows precisely what he's doing, and--capital news--doesn't intend to do it painfully." His skill is considerable, but what truly distinguishes him is his knack for making one feel absurdly comfortable while one's mouth is doing impersonations of a railway tunnel.
